I keep running into these “name the top X things you have learned from your PLN lately”. Perhaps it is advancing age but whenever I go to answer something like that my mind goes off into la la land. Usually X>4, many times X> quite large but most of the time I have no idea what the function for where X came from is. Maybe something like X=?
During that day, you can introduce minimal and small Web2.0 tools. If they can’t use it in 10 mins, don’t talk about it. The first experience that teachers need is a familiar one; where they have an immediate win – and end the day talking about the design of learning being collegial.

I think he wrote something like this a while back but as usual I can’t remember. I have been trying to follow this as much as possible during our current run of Moodle PD sessions.
Problem is I just want to talk too much. Want to bore people right out of using the tools that can make a difference in how they use Moodle. Every time I keep my mouth and planning in check and focus on one small aspect of Moodle use everyone leaves feeling better about themselves and what they have learned. That’s the key. People should leave feeling good.
Too often, from sessions I have attended and given, people leave with an “oh my god what the hell was that all about” feeling. As my wife tells me “believe it or not not everyone lives and breathes that stuff”. The big thing is, with a kiss type approach I always feel as though I have actually accomplished something. Just need to follow his eight questions keep my mouth open for a lot less time and all will be good.
